Global Health Charities

At Global Health Charities, they believe that all human beings, regardless of socio-economic status, should have access to safe and affordable health care. The organization was founded by Patricia Williams back in 2008, after she spent 18 years working at a Catholic nonprofit international health organization where she personally saw firsthand the discrepancies in healthcare between wealthy and poor communities.
Today, she works to prevent the issues that cause deaths in mothers and newborns who don’t have access to hospitals, healthcare resources, and clean supplies.
GHC’s Clean Birth Kit Program
One of the biggest programs the organization focuses on is the distribution of clean birthing kits. Each one consists of wrapped soap, two pairs of disposable gloves, gauze, antiseptic wipes, a single-edged razor blade with cardboard safety cover, a cord clamp, one plastic sheet, an infant hat, a receiving blanket, and a birth pictorial.
These kits provide mothers and newborns with access to clean birthing supplies, which without statistically leads to 4.5 million infant deaths each year, and 303,000 mother dying during childbirth each year.
Overtime, they have made over 10,000 clean birthing kits that have been distributed throughout 15 different counties.
Get Involved & Give Back
There are a few different ways you can get involved in helping out the Global Health Charities.
The GHC is always accepting donations for medical and sanitary supplies, some they’re always looking out for include:
  • Gallon-size zipped bags
  • Alcohol wipes
  • Single edge razor blades with cardboard safety cover
  • 3? x 3? or 4?x 4? non-woven cotton gauze pads
  • New infant hats
  • New light cotton receiving blankets
  • Plastic medical gloves
  • Cord clamps
  • 2 oz bars of wrapped antibacterial soap
  • Plastic bins with lids (70 quart or similar)
  • 3' x 50' 4 mil Clear Plastic Sheeting (Husky brand found at Walmart; HDX at Home Depot)
  • Copy services to print instructional inserts
Another way you can help donate is by offering to fund and host a Clean Birth Kit (CBK) Assembly Event at your place of work, worship, or education. Each kit costs just ten dollars to make, so every dollar ends up going a long way.
Events & Fundraisers
Throughout the year the GHC holds a number of fundraising events such as music and food cart festivals, concerts, dinner banquets, and auctions.
